Why Is Testing Important?

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates there are 376 million new infections of common STDs globally each year[1]. Regular testing is the only way to be certain of your health status, allowing for early treatment and preventing transmission. (Source: WHO, HealthHub Singapore)

Frequently Asked Questions About Our STD Testing & Treatment

When Should I Get Tested After Potential Exposure?

The best time to get tested depends on your type of exposure and  symptoms. Everyone’s situation is different, so it’s best to speak with a doctor—they can guide you on the right time for testing and any next steps for your care.

Will I need a consultation for my screening?

Yes. A consultation is compulsory before any screening, as it will enable you to determine the best screening type that suits your needs, based on your symptoms and exposure, which will be explained during your consultation.

Do I Need Screening If I Have No Symptoms?

Yes, a screening is strongly advised. Many STDs can show no symptoms—up to 70–80% of cases[2], like chlamydia or gonorrhea. Screening helps detect infections early and protect both you and your partners.

Do I Need To Fast Before My Screening?

No, fasting is not required for regular STD/STI screening.

How Do I Decide Which Test Is Best For Me?

Each individual symptoms and exposure varies. Hence, speaking to the doctor will provide guidance on test, treatments and next steps. Not to worry, you are able to decline any test or treatments if you are not ready.

The only cost is the consultation fee, which starts from $28, depending on the length of the consultation.

How Is STD Testing Done?

Depending on the screening, tests can involve a simple urine sample, blood test, or a swab. Our doctor will explain the process clearly during your visit.

How Long Does It Take To Get STD Test Results?

Our rapid tests provide results in 20 minutes. The turnaround time for other specific tests will be advised during your consultation.

Is STD Testing Painful?

Most STD tests are quick and minimally invasive, causing little to no discomfort. Our medical team prioritises your comfort throughout the process.

Do I Need To Make An Appointment For STD Testing?

Yes, we recommend booking an appointment to ensure you have a private and dedicated consultation with our doctor without a long wait.

Will The Test Be Discreet?

Yes. We provide a Discreet STD test, which requires minimal details from you, such as your NRIC and email address, so that we can share the results with you for your follow-up care. All information shared will be kept confidential between you and our doctor and will not be disclosed without your consent.

Our discreet processes ensure that your visit and records remain private and protected at every step.

What If My Test Result Is Positive?

If a test is positive, our doctor will provide a confidential post-test consultation to discuss effective STD treatment options and next steps.

As a general principle, our team will not disclose any of your medical information, including test results, to anyone without your consent.

However, please note that in exceptional cases (for example, an HIV positive result, which is a notifiable disease to the Ministry of Health (MOH) under the Infectious Diseases Act)[3], we are legally required to follow the protocols.
